In December 2023, we launched our City Platform. It is a working group made up of cities and regions that exchange experiences, knowledge, lessons learned and recommendations on topics related to last-mile deliveries, green urban logistics, and the decarbonization of urban freight.

The overarching goal is to connect local authorities together to enable peer-to-peer exchanges, share best practices and solutions, and offer capacity building and learning opportunities.

Who are the current members of the City Platform?

The members of the City Platform include professionals working on urban logistics in the local authorities of Arad, Antwerp, Barcelona Metropolitan Area, Bologna, Mechelen, Emilia-Romagna Region, Hamburg, Getafe, Helsinki, Istanbul, Leuven, Madrid, Prague, Riga, Sarajevo, and more.

What topics will be discussed?

The discussion topics will be guided by input from City Platform members. These may encompass various digital solutions such as digital twins, PI-inspired last-mile logistics, challenges linked to data collection and governance. In addition, governance and planning processes will be explored, including partnerships for micro-hub management, implementation strategies for Sustainable Urban Logistic Plans (SULP), best practices for low emission vehicles, and managing freight deliveries within Urban Vehicle Access Regulations (UVARs).
